Introduction
Prof. René Leemans, professor and head of the ENT and Head and Neck Oncology Department at Amsterdam UMC and VU Amsterdam, has made significant global contributions to cancer care and research, including as the founder of the European Make Sense Awareness Campaign. In March 2025, he will organize the 11th European Conference on Head and Neck Oncology (ECHNO) at the Beurs van Berlage, a leading event in oncology where tradition and innovation converge.
