Introduction
Fernando Kuipers is a professor at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), specializing in internet and communication infrastructures. He has been a visiting researcher at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (2009) and Columbia University in New York (2016). As the scientific director and founder of the Do IoT fieldlab, he fosters collaborations between TU Delft, industry, and government in the realm of Internet-of-Things.
Fernando has held various board positions, including co-founder and board member of TU Delft’s PowerWeb Institute (2012–2015), member of the Program Advisory Board at SURFnet (2017–2018), and board member of KIVI Telecom (2017–2018). He also served on the IEEE Benelux Chapter on Communications and Vehicular Technology board (2009–2021) and was vice-chair of IFIP WG6.2 “Network and Internetwork Architectures” (2019–2022). Currently, he is on the board of the TU Delft Safety & Security Institute (2019–2023) and the ACM SIGCOMM board (since 2021).
