From stock trading to concert hall: a rich history
In 1903, the Effectenbeurszaal was inaugurated for the daily trading of stocks and bonds. When the stock exchange moved to its own building at Beursplein 5 in 1912, the hall served various functions, including as a currency exchange and giro office. From 1985 to 2013, the space was revitalised by the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, which transformed it into an acoustically enhanced concert hall for an unparalleled musical experience.
