Virtual tour through the Beurs
Imagine yourself inside the beautiful Beurs and walk through the impressive monument by Berlage using the virtual tour. Feel the tension of the stock exchanges in the Grote zaal, experience the hectic in the Effectenbeurszaal and smell the freshly sourced grain in the Graanbeurszaal.
But most importantly, look into the possibilities for your event in one of the beautiful halls or breakout rooms in the most sought after conference venue in the heart of Amsterdam. Organise your event of the future in one of our historic halls.
In 1903, the stock exchange started using the Effectenbeurszaal. From then on, this room was used on a daily basis to trade shares and bonds. Until 1912, when the stock exchange moved into its own premises next door, at Beursplein 5. Nowadays, mainly due to the great accoustics, the Effectenbeurszaal is ideally suited for organizing conferences.
Grain traders traded large amounts of grain imported from far. To sell this in the Netherlands, they needed a stock exchange where they were able to negotiate. The Graanbeurszaal (grain exchange hall) was designed with a glass sawtooth roof so the grain could be checked by the merchants in the northern lights. This makes the room ideal for organising events.
Where previously the Beurs Traders' offices were on the first floor, it is now possible to organise different sessions in the breakout rooms. Take the tour through the beautiful halls named after the masters and artists who, together with Berlage, have developed the wonderful 'Gesammtkunstwerk' today known as the Amsterdam Conference Centre Beurs van Berlage.
