During the celebrations the key word is pride—and it’s a celebration of people who are lesbian and gay, bisexual and transgender, bi-curious and queer.
Amsterdam is the most liberal city in Europe. And, each year, the Pride Amsterdam events spotlight that openness.
The key word is pride—and it’s a celebration of people who are lesbian and gay, bisexual and transgender, bi-curious and queer.
Look for Pride Amsterdam events from July 27th till August 5th . It’s all there—street parties, concerts, movie nights…
It’s a huge human-rights celebration—for people who are “thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black or white,” organizers proclaim. Make no mistake about the star of Amsterdam Gay Pride: the Canal Parade.
What’s there to see? Seventy-five floating boats, peopled by proud partiers—in costume and out (partly naked, that is). More than 300,000 people watch the parade live from the banks and bridges of the canals.
It’s even a big deal for corporates, with support from mainstream companies like Adidas and Philips. Be sure to visit it. Gay Pride is being hosted every year in the month of August.
