Sustainable initiatives in Amsterdam
The city of Amsterdam has various sustainability objectives. For example, it aims to have fully circular economy by 2050. The municipality wants to reach this milestone by taking several measures, including increasing circular use of materials and accelerating the transition to renewable energy.

Sustainability at every scale
Amsterdam already encourages lower-emission travel through an extensive public transport network, cycling infrastructure and growing electric transport options. These measures will be extended from 2030 onwards, when all deliveries to the city centre will, in principle, be made using zero-emission vehicles.
Impactful events
Additionally, many venues and caterers in the city are taking steps to reduce the environmental footprint of events. Caterers and in-house F&B teams offer plant-based menus and are increasingly using local, organic products. Venues also support several different social initiatives, giving organisers opportunities to contribute to local communities through their events.
