We look forward to receiving your application via werken@beursvanberlage.com. Most of our vacancies mention the application deadline and the week we have reserved for interviews. For open hiring weeks, there may not be a fixed timeline. We are, of course, eager to be surprised by your motivation letter! After the application deadline, all submissions are carefully reviewed, and an initial selection is made. You will receive a response to your application within 10 working days.

Introduction meeting

If your motivation letter impresses us, we’d like to get to know you better—and you us! The first introduction meeting will be with the relevant manager and/or our HR manager. You’ll receive an invitation by email. Ideally, we schedule all introduction meetings on the same day to provide timely feedback to all candidates.
For open applications for positions in our hospitality teams (Bistro and/or Banqueting department), we will contact you by phone.

Selection interview

Following the introduction meetings, we select three to five candidates. If you are still enthusiastic after the first meeting, a second interview will follow with one of our field experts, along with the manager you previously met.
The second interview focuses on your talents and skills, and we evaluate if you align with our Beurs van Berlage profile, especially in terms of personal hospitality. We will also discuss mutual expectations, which we believe are key to a successful start with us.

For management roles, our Managing Director is always invited to join the selection interview.

Employment terms

If we both see a great collaboration ahead, we will email you our offer and ask for two recent references we can contact.
We will then schedule a meeting to sign your contract. Please bring copies of your relevant diplomas and/or certifications for your personnel file.
Our employment terms are in line with the hospitality industry collective labour agreement but include attractive extras: higher salary scales, additional leave days for age and ATV, and a pension plan. You’ll also enjoy 25 annual vacation days (based on 38 hours/week), company-provided uniforms, daily staff lunches, staff discounts at our Bistro, and access to exhibitions. Additionally, you’ll benefit from fun internal events organized by our festive committee. All information about our terms will be provided alongside our offer.

Administrative completion

As part of our onboarding procedure, we require a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). We will initiate the application in the government’s digital system.
You’ll receive an email from justis.nl with a payment request via iDEAL. These costs will be reimbursed, and you can claim them through our self-service platform, with reimbursement within a week. The government will screen your profile based on the role you are being appointed for. After screening, you’ll receive the results at your registered home address. Please bring your VOG on your first working day for your personnel file. In case of a negative outcome, you’ll receive a detailed explanation of the reason for rejection.

Everything set? Contract signed? Congratulations and welcome to the Beurs van Berlage!

You’ll be introduced to your buddy, who will help you settle in and answer any questions during your first weeks. We will create a personalized introduction programme for your first day and warmly welcome you to our team!
