A monument with a mission
The Stichting Palazzo Pubblico Amsterdam (SPPA) is dedicated to keeping the iconic national monument, the Beurs van Berlage, accessible to a wide audience. By securing grants, sponsorships, and donations, we support cultural, social, and educational activities while contributing to the preservation of this historic building. Our goal is to create a space where art, economy, and society come together, in line with the original vision of architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage.
Proud achievements
Since its establishment in 2021, the Stichting has enabled a diverse programme of events, including concerts, exhibitions, and community initiatives. In 2024, our focus was on rebranding the Stichting and strengthening our partnerships. This allowed us to chart a clear course for the future. Activities such as the “Week of Money” and “Summer at the Beurs” have demonstrated our ability to foster meaningful connections with a range of stakeholders.
Our plans for 2025
In 2025, we aim to capitalise on Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary with unique programmes such as “The Celebration of Connection” for lonely residents and concerts highlighting the rich history of the Beurs van Berlage. Additionally, we plan events like the “Friends Concert,” which reconnects Berlage’s great-grandson with his great-grandfather’s legacy. Through these activities, we aim not only to spotlight the building but also to create a lasting impact on the city and its residents.
