The Beurs van Berlage is an event location with more than 116 years of history. With its striking architecture, it is one of the buildings in the centre of Amsterdam that have retained their original appearance. Its original function, that of a merchant's exchange, fulfilled the building relatively briefly. Today, conferences, parties and dinners are organised in the building. It has become a bustling meeting place for a much wider group of people than just traders: a real hotspot in the centre of the city.

The fact that the Beurs van Berlage is at the centre of today's society is also clear from a new type of event that takes place here. Last year an E-sports event took place for the first time in this unique building. During the Hearthstone’s E-sports event, the architecture of the building definitely added to the atmosphere of the event.

This was also the case during the weekend of 4 and 5 May 2019. People came together in the Beurs van Berlage, and online, for the Nintendo Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Smash Ball Team Cup 2019. The best teams of Europe entered the ring and played against each other at the highest level. During this e-sports event the exceptional architecture of the building created a unique atmosphere as well. But this was not the only thing that the organisations at both events were enthusiastic about.

The Beurs van Berlage also has a 2000 Mps WiFi connection. The 5-star facilities and services made it possible for E-sports fans from all over the world to follow the events live. This makes the Beurs van Berlage no longer just a historic meeting place in the heart of Amsterdam. It is also a location that brings people from all over the world together online as well.
