Five locations will open their doors for a Tour DAMUSE on Sunday July 4th and 11th 2021. During this tour you will get a visit “behind the scenes", hear special stories about these locations and let yourself be pampered in a culinary way. A unique gathering of history, culture and gastronomy around Dam Square in Amsterdam! The Beurs van Berlage exudes history and character. In 1903 it was already a bustling trading place and today it is a breathtaking and versatile conference location in the warm heart of Amsterdam. During the Tour DAMUSE you will hear all about the rooms where the scents of coffee, cocoa and chocolate used to roam, where the grain was brought in from the ships and where the stock traders ran with sweat on their foreheads. The impressive hall where the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce was located is of course also part of the tour.
You will be welcomed in the monumental Winter Garden from 1880, where you can enjoy two surprising amuses and a cocktail. The “house archivist" will take you on a journey through the rich history of NH Hotel Krasnapolsky. Started as a coffee house in the 19th century and now, consisting of five different buildings, is undoubtedly the most famous hotel in Amsterdam.
The Nieuwe Kerk is known for its high-profile exhibitions, royal ceremonies, official gatherings and cultural events. A special place where inspiration, commemoration and celebration have come together for decades. During the Tour DAMUSE you will learn everything about the rich history of De Nieuwe Kerk and you can see the 18th century Kerkmeesterkamer and the imposing choir screen with your own eyes.
Since 1981, De Brakke Grond has been the expert in the Netherlands for current innovative Flemish performing arts, visual arts and music. As a podium and network organization, we initiate and realize programs and collaborations in our building in Amsterdam and at other locations in the Netherlands. We support Flemish artists with artistic daring in building a sustainable practice in the Netherlands. We offer the Dutch public and professional field a counterpoint. De Brakke Grond: location, sparring partner and quality label in one. During Tour DAMUSE you will have the opportunity to enter the Brakke Grond and view the exhibition “Only me, have more memories" by Maxime Brigou. To complete the Flemish experience, café de Brakke Grond serves two typical snacks and a suitable seasonal beer.
This society and business club, which is normally only accessible to members, opens its doors during the Tour DAMUSE. Experience the grandeur of the Club Room, the Library and the Ladies Room and get to know the special history of the Club. While the Chef surprises you with appetizers and matching drinks, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Dam.
Tickets Are you also coming to enjoy history, culture and gastronomy at Dam Square? The Tour starts promptly at 2 p.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Tickets cost € 55 per person (entrance, ten amuses and five drinks are included) and can be purchased online via this ticket link. When purchasing your ticket you choose your own starting point of your Tour, you will then receive the order of the locations by email. You will be divided into groups of maximum 20 people so that the corona safety measures can be guaranteed. You can reserve a maximum of four tickets per person.
