In my role I am responsible for the (re) development, restoration and preservation of the national monument "Beurs van Berlage". In addition to real estate, I am active with the (monumental / museum) inventory and all facility issues within the organization on a daily basis.
The national monument has been transformed into a 'Palazzo Pubblico' in recent years. In addition to a contemporary conference and event centre, we also house around 45 different office tenants, two catering establishments, exhibition spaces, two permanently occupied apartments, a Seats2Meet community, a bicycle rental, two escape rooms and a real chocolate factory.
Such a varied use of a building can be called special and extreme. We do this ‘on top’ and with great passion and pleasure within the national monument ‘Beurs van Berlage’.
The focus is to (continuing) build on the "collaboration" between the monument and the contemporary 24/7 commercial 5-star service that we offer. Without a commercial approach the future of the monument cannot be guaranteed, without the monument the commercial foundation (the unique experience) is lost. The "cooperation" between the monument and the commercial side is therefore irrevocably the most important spearhead. A great challenge, as the mutual interests are not always in line.
