The Amsterdam Opera Choir would celebrate its 70th anniversary in May and June 2020. It was to be a festive anniversary with a reception in May and a concert performance of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore in June. Corona restrictions have forced us to postpone these activities. At first we hoped that we could move it to Sunday afternoon April 18, 2021. However, the board has decided in consultation with our conductor to reschedule the anniversary concert again.
The reason for this is that it looks as if the 1.5 meter guideline will still apply in the spring of 2021, which will make it impossible to perform with sufficient audience in the Fair.
The preparation time is also too short because we still cannot rehearse.
The new date is now Sunday, April 24, 2022. We already have an agreement from the Beurs and the Promenade Orkest. Four of the five soloists have also already committed.
