Moniek Tromp is a physical chemist and now, after 10 years working abroad, employed at the University of Groningen as professor in Materials Chemistry. Her research focusses on the development and application of characterisation techniques in sustainable materials research, including fuel cells, batteries, catalysis,  as well as arts. She has been awarded prestigious fellowships and awards. Gender and diversity are important for her and she has been active as Gender Equality Officer (D) and is now developing programs for primary school on science and engineering as well as gender bias issues.

In her many roles, Moniek is (part of) the organisation of smaller and larger conferences in different locations. At the Beurs van Berlage we have organised two large international conferences in the field of chemistry and catalysis. The Beurs van Berlage has proven a unique and perfect location, because of it central location in the city of Amsterdam, appealing to international visitors, the beautiful building and ambiance, and the great catering and service of the Beurs van Berlage’s team.

Our guests, being mostly used to crowded and smaller venues, were all, without exception, impressed with the great atmosphere.
